Luisa was born on Margarita island, the 'Pearl Island', on the Caribbean coast of Venezuela.

Her love and passion for pearls started at a very early age. Her mother would buy the actual pearls from the traders on the island and would have them mounted on beautiful, bespoke pieces.

Luisa especially remembers a lovely brooch in an orchid shape with encrusted pearls. Also, a gold ring with two different colour pearls, cream and black.

When she was 18 years old, Luisa went to university to study marine biology and it was there that she understood the wonderful process by which a mollusc produces such a beautiful gem.

She started making jewellery as a hobby and with time this became her passion and now her business.
